Hallelujah! Kogi BBQ is Here to Stay! Welcome to OC, Baby Naranja!

Gone are the days of suffering when you get a craving for a short rib burrito or a kimchi quesadilla, debating with your friends on whether or not to wait in a 3 hour line, or give-in and drive all the way to LA on a Wednesday night.  That’s right folks, Kogi BBQ is no longer banned from Orange County and guess what?  We even get our own dang truck!  Enter: Naranja!  Orange County’s very own Kogi BBQ truck, that makes Baby Naranja the 4th humble truck in the Kogi …

#HealPhilippines Benefit Show TONIGHT!

There’s this Tagalog phrase, “ISANG BAGSAK!” which you’ll hear a lot of the Filipino clubs shout in solidarity.  It means “One Fall”.  We’ve seen the Filipino-American community come together all across America to provide relief for the people affected by Typhoon Ondoy and everything that has followed after.  We’ve seen the whole YouTube community come together to raise money through uStream shows, benefit concerts pop up all over the place, people donate money for each of their Twitter followers, food/clothing drives – you name it, it’s happened over the past …

Together, We Can #HealPhilippines!

Singer/Songwriter AJ Rafael has 18,942 followers on Twitter, 97,921 subscribers on YouTube, and 16,872 fans on Facebook.  Needless to say, AJ Rafael is a big deal.  Last night, he used the power of his fan community to raise money and more importantly, raise awareness about the tragic Typhoon Ondoy that struck the Metro Manila area of the Philippines this weekend.
All weekend, AJ was a bit frustrated with the media and citizens of the interwebs for their disinterest and lack of mobilization for the cause, expressing his concern through tweets.  He …

TONIGHT: Titan Radio’s “Asian Persuasion Show” Premiere!

The first show of it’s kind anywhere in the nation!  One of Titan Radio’s very own flagships, “The Asian Persuasion Show” has it’s big Fall premiere tonight at 7pm on www.titanradio.org!  We did a great interview with it’s host, M. Meow that we’ll share later, but in the meantime, you MUST tune in tonight.
There is a pretty amazing somewhat “under the radar” music scene that Asian American musicians have created all on their own.  We need shows like The Asian Persuasion Show as a platform to promote, expose and share …

White on Rice Opens TODAY in Irvine!

We here at vitaminOC strongly support independent music and independent films!  Orange County is lucky to be getting White on Rice the movie at Irvine Spectrum Edwards Cinema starting THIS WEEKEND!  The production has taken somewhat of a gamble including Orange County in it’s opening weekend, but having already seen the movie, we’re confident that it will have a nice, long run here in Orange County!
So what are you waiting for?  This isn’t just a single screening, people!  You can watch White on Rice 5 times a day at Irvine …
